As a mentor focused on cultivating an entrepreneurship culture at our institution, my approach will revolve around three main pillars: mentorship, education, and ecosystem building. I will implement a structured mentorship program connecting students and faculty with seasoned entrepreneurs, fostering guidance, networking, and real-world insights. Integrating entrepreneurship education into our curriculum will be pivotal, offering practical courses on business planning, financial management, and innovation.
Creating a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem will be another priority, featuring hackathons, startup competitions, and collaborative projects across disciplines. These initiatives will encourage innovative thinking and provide avenues for students to pitch ideas, gain feedback, and access resources like incubators and funding networks. Dr. Akhilesh Singh, born on March 2, 1986, in India, is an esteemed academician fluent in English and Hindi. He is currently an Assistant Professor and Programme Coordinator at the School of Tourism, Hospitality, and Hotel Management (STHHM) at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani (Nainital), a position he has held since August 18, 2015.
Dr. Singh's educational background is distinguished. He qualified the UGC NET exam in Tourism Management in June 2012 and earned his Ph.D. in 2014 from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad, focusing on the "Problems and Prospects of Tourism Industry in the Buddhist Circuit." He obtained his Master of Tourism Administration (M.T.A.) with first-class honors from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, in 2008 and completed his undergraduate studies at Kurukshetra University in 2006.
