Startup Bootcamp
Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY)—an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand, and implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)—have a series of intensive two-day Startup Bootcamps are being organized across government educational campuses throughout the state. These bootcamps are designed to create widespread awareness and sensitize students towards entrepreneurship and self-employment at a large scale.
The primary objective of the Startup Bootcamps is to introduce students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, equipping them with the essential skills required to explore self-employment and business opportunities. The program focuses on providing students with knowledge about various government schemes, institutional support systems for new ventures, and the legal and managerial competencies required to establish and operate a successful enterprise.
A key component of the bootcamps is encouraging students to think creatively and critically while identifying viable business ideas that can be developed into sustainable ventures. Through interactive sessions, group activities, and guided mentoring, students are supported in shaping and refining their business concepts. Special emphasis is placed on Business Plan Development, enabling students to articulate their ideas in a structured format, evaluate market feasibility, and prepare for potential funding or incubation opportunities.
The major focus areas of the Startup Bootcamps include:
• Opportunity Sensing
• Business Idea Generation
• Design Thinking
• Prototype Development
• Startup Pitch Preparation
• Awareness on Government Schemes and Support Systems
By providing this structured exposure to entrepreneurship at an early stage, Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of Uttarakhand.
